Nigerian Children Sing for Alison

Updated: May 9, 2018

In this video, children from the Stepping Stones School in Nigeria sing and pray for Alison after hearing of her death. Alison instilled in her daughter Naomi the courage to build this school and helped her to fundraise for its construction. Alison even visited the school and spent time in the local village with the village chiefs, sharing a ceremonial chicken!

Hymn: Only Remembered

Fading away like the stars in the morning, Losing their light in the glorious sun. Thus would we pass from this earth and its toiling, Only remembered for what we have done.

Only remembered, only remembered, Only remembered for what we have done. Thus would we pass from this earth and its toiling, Only remembered for what we have done.

A Message from the Village Chief

We the entire members (Management, Teachers, None Academic Staff and Parents) of Stepping Stones Model School Uquo, Nigeria, do console with you over the demise of your beloved Mother -Dr Alison Chapple.

You should be comforted by the fact that any human who is born would grow up, participate in the drama of life and then death comes when it would come.

Your mother played the drama of life excellently well. To us at SSMS, it is of great memory that Lady Alison had you, and you and your loving husband brought educational succour to our community - Uquo - and for children of Nursery/Primary school age, where the deepest foundation of life is laid.

Naomi, be consoled therefore that your mother had given you to the world. Buckle up to continue where she had stopped; continue to be a blessing to the world.

Accept our deepest condolences at this time, and may our love and peace keep and strengthen you.
